<br />Councilman Ferrera <br /> <br />Councilmen Leary <br /> <br />Councilwoman Morris <br /> <br />Mayor Meier <br /> <br />dditions to Code by City <br /> <br />Councilwoman Morris <br /> <br />VOTE ON MOTION TO PUBLISH <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #781 - ADOPTION 1982 <br />UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE <br /> <br />1/18/83 <br /> <br />Page -7- <br /> <br />Wished to confirm that this section was <br />an additL)n to the Uniform Building Code <br />1982 Edition, by the City. <br />Rautenstraus confirmed this. <br /> <br />Requested a report be given on this specific <br />section on final reading as he could forsee <br />some problems, not with new homes, but for <br />someone to have to excavate out to install <br />a window in a bathroom in an older home <br />may not be possible. <br /> <br />Inqui~ed if there were other parts of the <br />ordinance that were not parts of the Uniform <br />Building Code, 1982 Edition, that the City added. <br />Rautenstraus advised there were not other <br />additions; there are some other additions <br />in the Code that are still in existence. <br />Were added previously to the Uniform Building <br />Code and will continue to be additions. <br /> <br />Stated as an explanation the Uniform Building <br />Code was a universal one, not one that was <br />initiated by the City. <br />Rautenstraus advised the Code was universal <br />but some of the additions had been made by <br />the City. He further explained some sections <br />of the Code contain situations which require <br />local concern to be dealt with. The Code <br />will state there are options or an area <br />may not be covered. If a specific area needs <br />to be covered then it is done so by an ordin- <br />ance. The additions were suggested by the <br />Chief Building Inspector, Steve Ferris, of <br />areas of concern. <br /> <br />Commented it was difficult for her, not having <br />read the building codes, to approve any kind <br />of amendments; therefore wished to have copies <br />of the codes. <br /> <br />Question called for to publish Ordinance <br />11780 - Adoption of 1982 Uniform Building <br />Code. 6 Ayes .. 1 Nay. Councilwoman Morris <br />dissenting. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilmembers had a copy of the ordinance. <br />Attorney Rautenstraus read the ordinance <br />by title only on first reading; requested <br />
