<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 17. 2009 <br />Page 5 of 8 <br /> <br />Jay Keany, 1488 Wilson Place, Louisville, CO, urged Council to go forward with <br />the cleanup days in memory of John Breaux. <br /> <br />John Haertling, 256 W. Elm Street, Louisville, CO stated in addition to being a <br />resident, he is a local businessman. He offered his service to assist the City to <br />conceptualize the memory of John Breaux. <br /> <br />Nick Stepan, 113 W. Sycamore Lane, Louisville, CO requested Council consider <br />as part of the John Breaux memorial pick-up day, a Boy Scout service project, <br />where credit would go toward Eagle Merit badges. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk expressed the family's desire for all the donations to go toward the <br />memory of John Breaux. Mr. Bright noted thus far over $35,000 was raised in <br />memory of John. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> <br />Councilor Yarnell noted the Youth Advisory Board is very committed to making a <br />recommendation to Council on a memorial to John Breaux. This will be a topic of <br />discussion at their next meeting. They wish to be involved in the tribute. <br /> <br />Councilor Clabots stated the Horticulture and Forestry Advisory Board also <br />discussed a tribute to John Breaux and will make a recommendation to Council. <br /> <br />Councilor Muckle stated Council should also get a recommendation from the <br />Cultural Council. He favored the funds be used as a permanent memorial to <br />John. He suggested involving the local schools. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a committee be made up of three residents of Louisville, <br />three residents of Lafayette, and Mr. and Mrs. Bright. The committee would <br />explore the appropriate tribute to John. He suggested a Staff member be <br />appointed to organize committee meetings. <br /> <br />Councilor Muckle supported a committee and requested Mayor Sisk make the <br />appointments of the Louisville residents. Councilor Dalton concurred. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilor Muckle moved Council proceed with forming a committee to <br />explore an appropriate memorial to John Breaux, seconded by Councilor Dalton. <br />All in favor. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No.8, SERIES 2009 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING <br />REFUSE, RECYClABlES AND COMPOSTABlES COllECTION AND <br />DISPOSAL FEES EFFECTIVE JUNE 1,2009 FOR THE CITY OF LOUISVillE, <br />COLORADO <br />
