City Council
Meeting Minutes
April 7, 2009

· The City's tax revenue in February was down from the previous year.
Sales tax revenue is down 5.8%; the City top 50 vendors tax revenues
was down 9.7%; lodging tax is down 17.5%, and auto use tax is down
23.3%.The sales and use tax revenues are down 6.9%, and 4.4% below
budget. The City has a reserve of approximately 4
million dollars so staff will continue to monitor the issue and ask Council to
discuss contingency plans as necessary during the June budget retreat. It
is important to stretch the available funds, work closely with local
businesses, promote shopping in Louisville and encourage Economic
Development that is consistent with the City's values.

· The City is eligible for approximately $16,000 from the stimulus package
for Justice Assistance Grants.
