VOTE TO NOT SUPPORT THE TRANSPORTATION PLAN Mayor Meier Director of Community Develop- ment Rupp AUDIENCE COMMENTS CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT RESOLUTION #38 - LOUISVILLE MEDICAL ASSOCIATION - INDUS- TRIAL BONDS ADOPTED 12/21/82 Page -6- Director Hioco advised that he had attended the Advisory Council meeting in the absence of Dave Blanchard and the City of Boulder wished to recommend that U.S. 36 be a 6 lane thoroughfare going in and out of Boulder. Counci1members were amazed with the statement by recalling Boulder's firm statement just 2 years ago when the last study was done with respect to the Superior Interchange improve- ments that 4 lanes would be quite adequate until the year 2000. Councilman Leary moved, Councilman Ferrera seconded that Louisville direct their repre- sentative not to support the 2000 year Thoroughfare and Transit Plan, unless a foot- note or some appropriate designation or citing is made in the plan that the next unified planning work program of DRCOG will contain a study of the 96th St. interchange issue. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Suggested a letter be sent to DRCOG staff stating our position on the plan and requesting an indication from them that this will be considered. Administrator Wur1 to put them on notice and request DRCOG to modify or make recommendations relative to the 96th St. interchange. Stated that when he had a discussion about the 96th St. and US 36 interchange with Ed Tepe who was on the Planning Advisory Council, he indicated that he also would like to see DRCOG study the 96th St. interchange issue. Therefore, the City did have that kind of input from the Boulder County Planning Director as well. Rupp to contact Tepe and obtain a letter stating this. None. Attorney Rautenstraus read the resolution in its entirety and counci1members had a copy of it. Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Ferrera seconded that Resolution #38 be adopted and a public hearing set for January 18, 1983. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
