<br />M1END ORDINANCE #768 - OPTION <br />OF ELDERLY TO APPLY FOR REBATE <br /> <br />Councilman Cussen <br /> <br />Councilman Leary <br /> <br />Mayor Meier <br /> <br />AMENDMENT APPROVED <br /> <br />APPROVAL TO PUBLISH ORD. #768 <br />AS AMENDED <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #24 - PUBLIC SERVICE <br />COMPANY - SPECIAL REVIEW USE <br />AND FINAL PLAT <br /> <br />7/20/82 <br /> <br />Page -6- <br /> <br />Discussion by Councilmembers - all in general <br />agreement. <br /> <br />Councilman Lea.ry moved, Councilwoman Morris <br />seconded that Ordinance #768 be amended to <br />allow elderly recipients the option of having <br />their water refund check combined with their <br />property tax refund check if they so wish. <br /> <br />Commented he felt that on the public's right <br />to know issue, it set one against :the,,~bther, <br />staff where their salaries are published, <br />and then this other group of citizens we <br />are asking to be treated differently. He <br />expressed concern in this respect. <br /> <br />Commented he was not certain this was the <br />same issue as the City was not paying salaries <br />to the elderly, but a rebate on the money <br />they paid to the City. <br /> <br />Commented that if any of the public wished <br />to check the application of an elderly per- <br />son who had applied, the Finance Department <br />would have this information available. <br />Attorney Rautemstraus advised the published <br />payment at any time would meet the require- <br />ment. <br /> <br />Question called for on the motion. 5 Ayes. <br />Councilman CUBsen dissenting. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Question called for on the motion to pub- <br />lish Ordinance #768 - Tax Rebate as amended. <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Each councilmember had a copy of the resolu- <br />tion. Attorney Rautenstraus read the resolu- <br />tion in its entirety. <br /> <br />John Lanterman, City Planner, gave a slide <br />presentation depicting the area and advised <br />the request was to construct an electric <br />substation and a 115,000 volt in-and-out <br />transmission line approximately 1856 ft. <br />southwest of the intersection of 96th St. and <br />Carbon Road, zoned Industrial and Agricul- <br />tural - 1.72 acres; no water and sewer ser- <br />vices needed. Will serve the electrical <br />loads of STC, the proposed Centennial Valley <br />Mall, CTC and provide relief to Lafayette <br />and Broomfield substations and will be the <br />only substation needed to serve the projected <br />needs of Louisville. <br />
