Mayor Meier

Conduct of Meetings

Recycling Issue

Herbecides

Lake Park

Housing Mortgage Revenue Bonds

Cat Problem

7/6/82

Page ~14~

legals with the correct date and only
needed to be published once.

Requested that at the Thursday evening
meeting that Noel Hobbs be attendance.

Commented perhaps sometime in August
Council could have a study session on the
Conduct of Meetings booklet and then adopt
formal policies dealing with motions,
seconds, etc.

Requested this item be placed on the next
agenda and perhaps have a presentation by
Mr.Milt Strickler. Would ask that everyone
weigh the pros and cons of the proposal.

Inquired of Director Hioco if the City has
any regulations that prohibits the use of
herbicides and insecticides in our open
space areas, especially dealing with a water
way.
Administrator 'rJurl advised these are con-
trolled by State law and lists which chemi-
cals can or cmlnot be applied.

Some people in the neighborhood advised
Mayor Meier that a number of people are using
gross amounts of herbicides to deal with the
foliage, and it drains into the Lake Park
drainage pond. Requested that Hioco contact
these people.

Director Rupp advised that when he appeared
before the Boulder County Commissioners
that the City of Louisville wished to be
included in the program thru the County.
Requested that Rupp provide councilmembers
with a copy of the information regarding
this issue.

Meier had received several complaints about
cats and wished Council to consider some
solution of roaming cats.destroying their
yards. He realized that in the past it has
been an extremely emotional issue for cat
ownersi but is also an extremely emotional
issue for property owners. Asked council
members to please forward any suggestions
or comments to him on this subject and per-
haps at some later date something could be
adopted for Council action.
