Councilman Leary Administrator Wurl ORDINANCE PREPARATION AUTHORIZED DENVER WATER BOARD PROPOSAL Mayor Meier 7/6/82 Page -8- INCOME $4,400 and Under $6,600 $8,800 Over $8,800 REBATE PER YEAR $48.00 36.00 24.00 12.00 Requested that this rebate be made retro- active to the date the water rate increases went into effect. Stated if this schedule meets with Council's approval he requested their authorization for the City Attorney to prepare an ordin- ance based on this schedule, it could be ready for their next regular meeting. Councilman Leary moved, Councilman Cunnnings seconded that the City Attorney be directed to prepare an ordinance based upon the pro- posed schedule, having those figures effec- tive the same time the water rate increase takes effect in the older part of town, and payable July 1st of each year. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Each councilmember had a copy of the pro- posal. Administrator t-7url connnented if Council wished to have more time to review the pro- posal and defer it, he would suggest they meet prior to the deadline date of July 13, 1982 and take a position at that time. Directed everyone's attention to page 4 of the proposal "As to those who may not have executed this Agreement as of July 13, 1982, its provisions shall be deemed to be a continuing offer to them to participate in the benefits of this Agreement and to sub- scribe for the payment of a portion of the cost of Phase II of the EIS until midnight of September 7, 1982, etc." Administrator ~vurl advised the one thing the City would be excluded from would be the connnittee, and it was his feeling that it would be important for the City to be represented on the connnittee if possible.
