Councilman Leary COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOND CONTRACT AUTHORIZATION Councilman Leary FIRE DEPT. REQUEST 4/6/82 Page -11- Stated the way he read the Mall annexation agreement - they would front-end all the money and be reimbursed as others hooked on to the system, and these tap fees would payoff the improvements of the complete annexation. It was his impression the City would not be involved with any of the costs. Wurl advised that it did not relate to the entire annexation, and advised the Subdivision Agreement specifies the exact number of taps. He further advised the State requires that when the lexisting plant reaches 80% capacity, the City has the responsibilty to proceed with the planning of the next expansion to meet State standards. No action taken - to be further discussed at the April 15th study session. The contract was for studies of possible raw water storage - expansion of Louisville Reservoir, Harper Lake, and perhaps an additional site on the west side of 80th St. The request was for authorization for the Mayor and City Clerk to sign the contracts. Councilman Fauson moved, Councilman Cussen seconded that the Hayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the contracts between the City and the Colorado Water Conservation Board. Inquired if the City's portion of the con- tract had been budgeted. Wurl advised that it had been. Question called for on the motion. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Administrator~-Jurl advised that the members of the Fire Department requested approval to close the streets from Jefferson to Lincoln and on Jefferson between Walnut and Spruce to practice fire drills for the convention competition, on Monday and Thursday evenings to close these streets.
