He advised after the session per-
haps they would have a statement for the
press.

Councilman Cussen

Expressed his pleasure attending the Plan-
ning Commission meetings. He found them
to be a very thorough, cohesive group and
doing a fine job. Also, it makes council's
job easier when they come before this body.

Complimented Dave Blanchard, City Engineer,
on his appointment to the Inactive Mine
Reclamation Advisory Council.

Suggested the Mayor send a letter to
Josie Heath, congratulating her for being
elected as one of the Boulder County Com-
missioners.

Councilwoman Morris
Marshall Landfill

Read an article from the Boulder Camera
regarding potential hazardous wastes seeping
into ground water at the Harsha11 Landfill.
Inquired if the City is involved in the
testing procedure and she would like to
see the results of the testing.

Administrator Wur1 advised that the City
has been deeply involved in the Harsha11
Landfill, and as a matter of fact was ,the
instigator in trying to get something done
regarding the potential hazardous wastes
since 1974. He further advised the City's
concern was there were no tests being done,
no control of what was being put in the waste
site - and we would hope that the Boulder
County Commissioners would generate enough
money to monitor that. There was not much impact from the
Commissioners, after a number of meetings
with them. Finally funds were allocated to
by-pass the 1E!achate that was flowing
from the Marshall landfill past our water
supply. In terms of solving the overall
problem, the pipeline should be much larger
and should be designed to accomodate the
