Councilwoman Morris Question on Publication ACCEPTANCE OF CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT ROY SHELTON REQUEST - CON- CURRENCE IN VACATION OF EASEMENT 3/2/82 Page -12- at the present time he had a request from Boulder County on South Boulder Road be- tween Louisville and Lafayette. As there are 3 jurisdictions involved, the county is requesting a speed limit change to go along with the traffic safety study done by State Highway Dept. for the City of Lafayette. He stated before he could respond to this request, he would have to have approval of council. He viewed this change as a more timely and streamlining procedure. Expressed her concern about council's re- view of speed limits also and inquired what the procedure is before the ordinance be put out for publication. Administrator Wurl stated if councilmembers would express their concerns with him and staff, they would review these. If council made a motion to have South Boulder Road restudied and those findings presented to council, this would give you an opportunity to review all the variables that were involved in that study. If council disagreed with one of them, this could come out in that session. It was his opinion that the speed limits be established based on an engineer- ing study. He also felt that from a legal point of view, if just arbitrarily speed limits~_"Q'ere:.;set, this would cause a serious problem. Question called for on publication of Ordin- ane #735. All in favor. Notion carried 6-0. Councilman Fauson moved, Councilman Cummings seconded the City Attorney's report be accepted and placed on file. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried. Advised Council the request was from First Savings Investment Co. for j::heir approval for the vacation of Public Service easements. The other utility companies have signed the form.
