APPROVAL N.C.A.R. - JAWS PROJECT Councilman Leary Counrilwoman Morris N.C.A.R. JAWS PROJECT TABLED LOUISVILLE HOUSING AUTHORITY APPOINTMENTS 2/16/82 Page -2- Councilman Leary moved, Councilwoman Morris seconded the transfer of ownership of Seader's Liquors be approved. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried 7-0. Reported representatives of the project had indicated they would be present, but did not appear at the meeting. Each member of council had a copy of the detailed outline of the project. Administrator Wurl stated basically they are requesting permission to fly over the city at lower altitudes than is permitted by F.A.A. to conduct meteorol- ogical studies in the area of severe thun- derstorm research, and need council's authori- zation for the Mayor to sign their memoran- dum of agreement for low-altitude flight. Had called the N.C.A.R. people on the phone and gave council a detailed report of the project. Attorney Rautl~nstraus reported the City would not be liable for any accident of the low flying aircraft and council could either approve it or not oppose the project. Expressed her disappointment that represen- tatives of the project were not present to answer several of her questions. Councilman Cussen moved, Councilwoman Morris seconded the Jaws Project be tabled until the representatives can brief council on this project. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried 7-0. Mayor Meier instructed Administrator Wurl to write a letter to the representatives of the project to appear at the next council meeting to give council more information. Chairman Robert Hinsberger reported two vacancies exist on the Louisville Housing Authority Board; also he would resign after the next meeting and there would be another vacancy.
