2/16/82

Page -9-

Councilman Leary

Inquired of Administrator Wurl if he had
come to a decision about supplying tables
for the Press at council meetings.
Director Hioco advised price comparisons
are being obtained from different companies.

Advised Council that the Louisville Times
is willing to have a section advising its
readers what is happening this week in
Louisville, and he wished to propose a
method to make certain that all meetings
that are held by all groups could be pub-
lished. He suggested that the City Clerk
notify the Louisville Times by Tuesday noon
of each week of the meetings that are
scheduled during the week, and the depart-
ment heads have the responsibility of
notifying the City Clerk by Monday of all
the meetings in the areas they support.

Stated perhaps City Council members develop
some kind of a disaster plan in the case of
a chemical spill along the railroad tracks, etc. ,
and how we would get the endangered public
removed. He had discussed this briefly with
Chief Leesman who advised his department has
been working on this. Leary suggested this
be placed on the council agenda within the
next two meeings, essentially to give an
official go ahead to develop such a plan.
Chief Leesman advised he would be attending
a meeting on this subject the end of the
week to find out more about the project.
Leesman also requested that a study session
be set before the plan is presented to council.

Administrator Wurl was of the opinion that
their department was in the process of develop-
ing this plan previously.
Leesman stated this was correct, a mini-plan
had been presented to Council a few months
ago. However, the new plan may require
substantial funds to implement it. He
suggested that representatives be brought
in to do a mock disaster situation for the
mayor, council members, and planning commission
members
