<br />HILLSIDE SQUARE PUBLIC HOUSING <br />PROJECT REQUEST - WAIVER OF FEES <br /> <br />Councilman Fauson <br /> <br />Councilman Cussen <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF WAIVING FEES <br /> <br />2/5/82 <br /> <br />Page -11- <br /> <br />as a courtesy, they consult us before <br />they get nearly as far down the road as <br />this present situation. <br /> <br />AdministratorWurl advised at the request <br />of the Executive Director of the Housing <br />Authority they are asking the City to <br />waive some of the fees to make the project <br />feasible. <br /> <br />Councilman Leary inquired if wa~v~ng any <br />of the fees would be detrimental to City <br />revenues. <br />Wurl commented they would not. The de}u~lQper <br />will improve their portion of South Boulder <br />Road, consequently we could waive the <br />Major Thoroughfare Fee - on the water and <br />sewer taps the:re will be some costs, but <br />if we want the project we will have to <br />make some concessions, as we did on the <br />last identical project; on the off-site <br />transition (in and out access of the area) <br />the City Engineer reviewed this and it <br />was his opinion the waiving of this fee <br />was not a problem. <br />Director Rupp informed Council waiving of <br />these fees would not guarantee the project <br />would be built; but with Council's approval <br />of doing so it would bring the cost more <br />in line with HUD. <br /> <br />Inquired if the contractor would likewise <br />waive some of his fees. <br />Rupp advised that the present over-run is <br />$200,000 more than HUD will authorize, <br />Nelson Roth, the developer selected by <br />the Housing Authority, indicated they <br />could reduce the cost considerably, but <br />can't totally come to the $200,000. <br /> <br />Inquired if the sprinkling system would <br />be cut from the project. <br />Rupp assured him it would not. <br /> <br />Councilman Cussen moved, Hayor Meier seconded <br />to waive the 1;vater tap $32,820.00, sewer <br />tap $8,515.00, Major Thoroughfare $10,400.00, <br />and Off Site (Transition) fees - total of <br />$58,735.00 on the Hillside Square Public <br />Housing Project. Question called for. <br />All in favor. Motion carried 6-0. <br />
