HILLSIDE SQUARE PUBLIC HOUSING PROJECT REQUEST - WAIVER OF FEES Councilman Fauson Councilman Cussen APPROVAL OF WAIVING FEES 2/5/82 Page -11- as a courtesy, they consult us before they get nearly as far down the road as this present situation. AdministratorWurl advised at the request of the Executive Director of the Housing Authority they are asking the City to waive some of the fees to make the project feasible. Councilman Leary inquired if wa~v~ng any of the fees would be detrimental to City revenues. Wurl commented they would not. The de}u~lQper will improve their portion of South Boulder Road, consequently we could waive the Major Thoroughfare Fee - on the water and sewer taps the:re will be some costs, but if we want the project we will have to make some concessions, as we did on the last identical project; on the off-site transition (in and out access of the area) the City Engineer reviewed this and it was his opinion the waiving of this fee was not a problem. Director Rupp informed Council waiving of these fees would not guarantee the project would be built; but with Council's approval of doing so it would bring the cost more in line with HUD. Inquired if the contractor would likewise waive some of his fees. Rupp advised that the present over-run is $200,000 more than HUD will authorize, Nelson Roth, the developer selected by the Housing Authority, indicated they could reduce the cost considerably, but can't totally come to the $200,000. Inquired if the sprinkling system would be cut from the project. Rupp assured him it would not. Councilman Cussen moved, Hayor Meier seconded to waive the 1;vater tap $32,820.00, sewer tap $8,515.00, Major Thoroughfare $10,400.00, and Off Site (Transition) fees - total of $58,735.00 on the Hillside Square Public Housing Project. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried 6-0.
