2/5/82

Page -9-

Mayor Meier

that has been established, it is incumbent
of the 2 Boulder hospitals to build a
facility out here. Boulder Memorial Hospital
did not feel they wished to enter into a
joint venture to build the project,a 1.6
million dollar facility. They have made
agreements to lease space within the facility-
rehabilitation type medicine. Four general
practitioner physicians, as well as 7
specialty physicians on a one-day or as
needed basis, 'will be housed in the offices.
Two pieces of property along South Boulder
Road are being discussed as the possible
location, in close proximity of the Louisville,
Lafayette border. The proposed facility is a
24 hour emergency room with physicians.

Councilman Leary

Asked Mr. Tanner to clarify what the Community
Hospital Assoe. was requesting of Council.
Administrator Wurl stated it was his opinion
they were asking for a motion that would
support their request to build the facility
in close proximity of the two cities, but
within the city limits of Lafayette.
Wurl further stated in the event Mayor and
Council approved such a motion, they would
still have to deal with the agreement. He
had spoken with Attorney Rautenstraus who
has some ideas to resolve this and he
