RESCHEDULE NOVEMBER
COUNCIL MEETING

November 5, 1981

AUDIENCE COMMENTS

CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
ORDINANCE #730 - STC NORTH
ANNEXATION - PUBLIC HEARING

Jim Graham - Representing
STC North Annexation.

10/20/81

Page -3-

Councilman Domenico moved that the first
Council meeting in November be set for
Thursday, November 5, 1981 due to the
Municipal Election. Seconded by Councilman
DelPizzo. Question called for. All in
favor. Motion carried 5-0.

None

Attorney Rautenstraus advised this was
a continued public hearing - read the
ordinance by title only and certified
proper publication.
Mayor Caranci opened the public hearing
and called on Director Rupp.
Rupp advised the annexation was south of
88th Street, northwest of the present
STC facilities and consisted of 80 acres.
He showed slides of the area, the request
was for industrial zoning, and each member
of council had a schematic development
plan copy as well as a copy of the impact
statement provided by the developer.
Rupp further stated the industrial develop-
ment met with the goals of the City to
provide adequate industrial employment
for the residents and future residents,
to achieve a more complete, self-sufficient
community and reduce the need for Louisville
residents to travel to other metropolitan
employment centers; also to enchance
the tax base of the community. In view
of these goals and consistency of the com-
prehensive plan staff recommended approval.
Director Rupp advised the service area requests
ammendment plan was taken to DRCOG - STC's
expansion was one of the requests. The
Regional Planning Advisory Council, which
is the first process for approval, did
recommend approval of the STC application
to be included within the City's urban
services area. This will then go to the
full DRCOG Council on November 18, 1981

Mayor Caranci asked if there was anyone
present in support of the application.
Mr. Jim Graham of STC stated he was present
in support of the application.
