Economic Vitality Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 19, 2022 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />speaker and then an in-depth discussion about using this time to invest in the <br />next 10 years. Councilmember Fahey offered "planting a seed" as a theme. She <br />continued that this theme could include an opportunity to highlight things that <br />businesses have done since the fire. There would also be an opportunity for EV <br />staff to discuss revamping the BAP, and a broader conversation about the <br />permitting process. <br />Councilmember Dickinson summarized the conversation and asked whether <br />this was enough feedback to move forward with planning the Business Forum. <br />Specialist Brown confirmed that he would move forward with the details <br />discussed today. Discussion/Direction- Strategic Plan Action #2-9: New Business Welcome <br />Packet: Specialist Brown presented the New Business Welcome Packet for <br />discussion. Councilmember Fahey commented that downtown businesses <br />should also receive contact information for the Louisville Revitalization <br />Commission. <br />Councilmember Dickinson commented on the importance of making sure that <br />new businesses have contact information for appropriate City departments. He <br />added that staff should consider including information on events within the City <br />of Louisville. <br />Councilmember Most made a comment on the format of the website link and <br />asked for clarification on some of the income information included in the packet. <br />Specialist Brown responded that staff will look into how this number was <br />calculated. <br />Public Comment from Mark Oberholzer: Mr. Oberholzer questioned whether the <br />Fagade Improvement Program will continue into 2023. Specialist Brown <br />responded that the program is anticipated to be renewed for 2023. <br />Councilmember Dickinson asked whether there was enough feedback to move <br />forward. Specialist Brown confirmed that he will revise the packet based on the <br />comments received. <br />VIII. Discussion- Economic Vitality Strategic Plan: Councilmember Dickinson <br />asked for feedback regarding the Strategic Plan and items currently planned for <br />the third and fourth quarters of 2022. Specialist Brown responded that the <br />Strategic Plan has largely remained on track through Q2 2022, but there may <br />be some changes in timing starting with Q3. Director Zuccaro commented that <br />staff will isolate the items from the Strategic Plan currently planned for 2022 and <br />report back to the EVC. <br />IX. Staff Updates: Specialist Brown commented that Chase Bank (833 Main <br />Street) closed on July 15. Chase owns the property and is currently evaluating <br />Agenda Packet P. 5 <br />
