Economic Vitality Committee
Meeting Minutes
August 19, 2022
Page 5of5
the best use. Precision Pours (1030 E South Boulder Rd) closed on June 30.
MECO Coffee Collective opened in the same location on August 1. Planning
received an application for a PUD amendment at the former Kohl's site (919 W
Dillon Road). The applicant is requesting exterior changes for a future office
use. The Simon LLC received administrative BAP approval and staff received a
new BAP application from Modern Folklore at 844 Main Street, Suite 102. The
Louisville Revitalization Commission (LRC) approved two Fagade Improvement
Program requests in July.
Councilmember Most expressed concern about the possibility of changing the
use at the former Kohl's site from retail to office. Councilmember Dickinson
agreed that while any new use may be better than a vacancy, this may not be
the most effective use of the space for the community. Councilmember Fahey
commented that this discussion is reflective of the changing nature of both retail
and office use, as well as their changing space demands.
Director Zuccaro commented that there will be a market analysis included in the
Comp Plan next year. He continued that understanding the demands for
different use types will help guide the zoning.
X. Recent Articles: No comments.
XI. Next Meeting: The next regular meeting will be September 16, 2022 @ 1:30
PM.
XII. Adjourn: The meeting adjourned at 3:02 PM.
Agenda Packet P. 6
