COUNCIL REHARKS Councilman DelPizzo Councilman Fauson RESOLUTION #39 TABLED ORDINANCE #708 REVAMPING & CLARIFYING ADMINISTRATION CODE - FIRST READING 12/16/80 Page - 7 - Municipal Code. He informed Council most of the changes were housekeeping type, and changes in the language had been underlined. Inquired if Chief Leesman's request for overtime for his personnel above grade 11 had been noted in the changes, as well as the probationary period. Administrator Wurl advised that on page 3 of the proposed changes item 4El ex- empted. personnel from overtime and this is the item with which Chief Leesman ex- pressed his concern. Administrator Wurl defended this change by stating that when personnel reach a grade 11 salary range it is usually an administrative position and comp time is given in lieu of overtime. A disucssion was held and Attorney Joss explained if the classifi- cation of the position is changed, it would have to be done by ordinance; but if the request is made to make a special exception relative to that one position (Police Lt.) this could be done by resolution or by changing this reso- lution being presented, or by adding an addendum. Stated that if an exemption were made then comp time would have to be adjusted in the resolution also, as both are not permissible. Attorney Joss then read Resolution #39, Series 1980 in its entirety. Administrator Wurl advised Council they could defer action on the resolution or it can be modified after suggestions. Councilman Domenico moved that Resolution #39 be tabled until next Council meeting, January 6, 1981. Seconded by Councilman DelPizzo. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried 5-0.
