SHERIFF'S <br />DEPT. <br /> <br />Councilman Meier inquired if Chief Lees- <br />man had a discussion with the Sheriff's <br />Dept. about one of their officers speeding <br />down Main St. <br />Chief Leesman reported the incident is <br />covered by State Statutes and the State <br />Board hearing will take place next week. <br /> <br />FLUORIDE FEEDER <br />WATER PLANT <br /> <br />Mr. Wurl reported the fluoride feeder <br />has been installed at the filter plant <br />and is operating. <br /> <br />WEEDS <br /> <br />Councilman Carnival reported many weeds <br />in the City's open space areas. <br />Administrator Wurl reported that he had <br />contacted Acting Director Hioco and re- <br />quested the areas be cut. <br /> <br />GRASSHOPPERS <br /> <br />Councilman Carnival asked if the City <br />can do anything about the grasshoppers? <br />Administrator Wurl said he would check <br />with the County to see what is permitted. <br />He doubted that private property owners <br />would be required to spray. Councilman <br />Carnival requested that Mr. Wurl call <br />Mr. Stan Morris of the Louisview Corp. <br />333-2255 and inform him what the County <br />permits. <br /> <br />FIREMEN SPEEDING <br /> <br />Councilman DelPizzo stated the rate of <br />speed that the firemen go thru residential <br />areas is hazardous - especially on Jeffer- <br />son St. <br />Chief Leesman reported emergency vehicles <br />are allowed to go thru residential areas <br />at a higher rate of speed. However, he <br />had spoke with the Fire Chief and they <br />are going to establish some sort of <br />criteria for their response in an emergency <br />situation. He stated that he has instructed <br />his personnel to not exceed the speed <br />limit in these areas by more than 10 MPH. <br />
