<br />MAYORS PROCLAMATION <br />FATHER CASEY DAY/JUNE 9th <br /> <br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT & APPEALS <br />APPOINTMENT - ASSOC. MEMBER <br /> <br />AUDIENCE COMMENTS NOT <br />APPEARING ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Minutes - Page 2 <br />June 3, 1980 <br /> <br />The Proclamation was read by Leon A. Wurl. <br />Mayor Waschak read a letter from the <br />Parish Council inviting the Council to <br />a farewell party for Father Casey. <br />June 9th will be Father Casey Day. <br /> <br />Councilman Caranci moved that Lee Bridge- <br />water be appointed Assoc. member of the <br />Board of Adjustment & Appeals. Council- <br />man Domenico seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried 6-0. <br /> <br />Betty Jones 1613 Jefferson Ave., concern- <br />ing a stop light on S. Boulder Rd or a <br />crosswalk. <br /> <br />Councilman DelPizzo responded with the <br />fact that the cost of lights is a problem <br />and that there has been a study on that <br />area. <br />Dir. Community Dev. Rupp stated that more <br />study must be made to make sure that the <br />light will serve its purpose. <br />Mrs. Jones stated that with school getting <br />out there will be a lot of people, young <br />and old, wanting to go to the shopping <br />center and they will have to cross So. <br />Boulder Road. <br />Leon Wurl stated that the crosswalks are <br />in progress and will probably be done <br />within the next ten days. He also stated <br />that everything will be done that can be <br />done on a temp rary basis. <br />Councilman Carnival stated that a light <br />is planned for when the budget allows for <br />it at the junction of So. Boulder Rd. and <br />Centennial. <br /> <br />It was discussed by Council about the <br />State Traffic Code. The Code has been <br />adopted for a long time and something <br />can probably be done replied Eugene <br />DiCarlo. <br />Leon stated that if business picks <br />up and there is a lot of permits the <br />light might be under way by September. <br /> <br />Mr. Gobel, 935 South St., asked the <br />City Attorney if there was a liability <br />on Louisville's part what is the liability <br />against somebody if they get hit by a <br />car. Attorney Joss replied that pedestrians <br />have responsibility and should be aware <br />of the traffic. <br />
