MAYORS PROCLAMATION FATHER CASEY DAY/JUNE 9th BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT & APPEALS APPOINTMENT - ASSOC. MEMBER AUDIENCE COMMENTS NOT APPEARING ON THE AGENDA Minutes - Page 2 June 3, 1980 The Proclamation was read by Leon A. Wurl. Mayor Waschak read a letter from the Parish Council inviting the Council to a farewell party for Father Casey. June 9th will be Father Casey Day. Councilman Caranci moved that Lee Bridge- water be appointed Assoc. member of the Board of Adjustment & Appeals. Council- man Domenico seconded the motion. Motion carried 6-0. Betty Jones 1613 Jefferson Ave., concern- ing a stop light on S. Boulder Rd or a crosswalk. Councilman DelPizzo responded with the fact that the cost of lights is a problem and that there has been a study on that area. Dir. Community Dev. Rupp stated that more study must be made to make sure that the light will serve its purpose. Mrs. Jones stated that with school getting out there will be a lot of people, young and old, wanting to go to the shopping center and they will have to cross So. Boulder Road. Leon Wurl stated that the crosswalks are in progress and will probably be done within the next ten days. He also stated that everything will be done that can be done on a temp rary basis. Councilman Carnival stated that a light is planned for when the budget allows for it at the junction of So. Boulder Rd. and Centennial. It was discussed by Council about the State Traffic Code. The Code has been adopted for a long time and something can probably be done replied Eugene DiCarlo. Leon stated that if business picks up and there is a lot of permits the light might be under way by September. Mr. Gobel, 935 South St., asked the City Attorney if there was a liability on Louisville's part what is the liability against somebody if they get hit by a car. Attorney Joss replied that pedestrians have responsibility and should be aware of the traffic.
