APPROVAL OF CITY ATTORNEY CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT COUNCIL COMMENTS & COMMITTEE REPORTS ALPINE LUMBER UPDATE COUNCIL FINALIZATION W. END LAFAYETTE ST. BACK UP GENERATOR CML CONFERENCE FOR PLANNING COMMISSION Minutes - page 4 May 20, 1980 Councilman Carnival moved that the City Attorney's report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Councilman Meier. Motion carried 6-0. There was no report be the City Administrator. Councilman Domenico asked why the Alpine Lumber permit was not granted or brought before the Council. He stated that he felt the Planning Commission had too much power. Mr. Wurl noted that Alpine Lumber asked that it return after a thorough review of the plans for the business, and when they are prepared they will return to the City officials for consideration. Councilman Domenico felt the City Council should have final word on all matter and moved that all items be finalized by City Council. Seconded by Councilman Fauson. Mr. Wurl stated that that is how the procedure is now. After comments roll call vote was taken AYES: Domenico and DelPizzo. NOES: Carnival, Meier, Fauson. Abstained: Caranci. Motion carried 3 - 2. Councilman Meier stated that the persons on W. Lafayette were glad to see the sign and chain put up and thanked the crew for getting it in. Councilman Carnival asked about the back up generator. Mr. Wurl reported that it is scheduled for delivery in about 6 weeks. Councilman Carnival asked the reasons the Planning Commission was not going to the conference. Mr. Wurl stated that the meetings did not really pertain to planning commissions, and Dir. Rupp was checking into planning conferences for the commission. It was also noted by Council and staff that the funds are not available as well as press coverage of officials attending the conference.
