SCHOOL SIGNALS CONT'D OPEN SPACE DEED ACCEPTANCE ROAD MAINTENANCE AGREE- MENT COUNTY - CITY OPEN SPACE GRAZING LEASE APPROVAL CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT Council minutes - page 9 February 19, 1980 be decreased to 15 MPH at the entrance of the school. Councilman Carnival and Meier stated that if the zone distance is reduced, it should not be reduced very much. Councilman Caranci stated that the speed limit should be kept the same as all other school areas are at 20 MPH and it may be called a speed trap if the City is lower. After discussion the citystaffwas instructed to come up some additional recommendations. Mr. Wurl noted the location of the pro- perty that has been deeded to the City. He noted that this was the land that the City has been negotiating with the County about a trade of the property for County land at the corner of South 80th and So . Boul der Rd. After discussion Councilman Caranci moved that the City accept the deed for 37 acres for open space just north of Mesa Point subdivision. Seconded by Council- man Fauson. Motion carried. Mr. Wurl stated that the staff has gotten together with the County road staff and have come up with an agreement to service and repair streets within the City and County by the two crews. He sited the street locations on the map~ Mr. Wurl stated that either group can terminate the contract if they are not satisfied with the work being done. Councilman Caranci moved that the Mayor be authorized to sign the road maintenance agreement with the County. Seconded by Councilman Fauson. Motion carried 5 - 1. Mr. Wurl reported that staff has reviewed the request for grazing on open space and there would be fencing necessary along with other problems. He recommended that Council study the matter and instruct Council how they should respond. Councilman Domenico moved that the City Administrators report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Councilman Meier. Motion carried.
