Minutes - page 10
August 21, 1979

McKee: Bull

DiCarlo: That is your opinion.

Waschak: This is not a public hearing. I have stated this before,
you have one more minute coming, ask your questions; you get the
answer, if not, you sit down.

McKee: I will ask two other questions, however, I am not satisfied
on this. The questions are, has the interchange been approved by
the state highway department?

Wurl: No, if you mean the state highway commission.

McKee: The other question is do we have written commitment from
the other stores involved in the mall.

Wurl: Written commitments from where?

McKee: The other stores. Dillards, Bealls, etc.

Wurl: That question might be better answered by Mr. Kahan. We don't
have in terms of the City, I don't know what Mr. Kahan has in terms
of a written contract.

McKee: Mr. Kahan said that he would make you aware that they had those.

Wurl: I would point out one thing; that has not been a requirement
of the City that he do that.

McKee: The information was that he stated that he would be willing to
let City Council know. Has he? Does he have them?

DiCarlo: We never did see anything in a written commitment.

Kahan: Mr. Mayor am I obligated to answer that?
Waschak: You can answer if you wish.

Kahan: I'd rather not.

Waschak: You have about ~ a minute Don.

McKee: Well, I guess I'll stand here for ~ a minute and see if any-
body has got any numbers about the fire. Can we put out a fire out
there?

Wurl: I think that question has been responded to. The City solicited
from the fire district.

McKee: The fire district gave you a macho ean do attitude and that
is not.

Waschak: Wait a minute you asked a question, he was trying to answer
you. Give him the decency like we gave you the decency to say the
word, let him talk.
