Minutes - page 9 August 21, 1979 Drumm: Mr. Mayor the same questions was brought up at the Planning Commission meeting, I responded then and rr~ response is the same. We have been in contact with the Fire depa.rtment they viewed this as a benefit to the fire department. He do not control the fire department anymore. They are not a part of the City of Louisville they are a separate district and therefore the equipment they need, station and soforth is vvithin their purview. We have agreed insofar as the City can to provide a fire station site for them in Centennial Valley filing #2. If they use that, that is just fine, and if they don't that is fine. We are trying to help them out with a site. We have been told by them that they think this is a benefit to the fire department and can serve the development and the revenues will be more then adequate to accomplish that and that the City has really no stand in it. McKee: Well, that doesn't answer the question. All that was, was a maucho can do attitude on the part of the fire department, and I am not interested in maucho can do attitudes, I want numbers and you should want numbers. How could you possibly make a decision that could cost us, because we are all the same tax payers whether we are in the City of Louisville or in the Louisville fire district, we are all :in the same, we are all the same tax payers, and it is our money and until we have those questions answered, we can't make the decision now can we. Or are you just willing to guess and to wing it. I am not willing to guess and to wing it and so I am prepared to stand here until we have the answers to those questions. Waschak: In regards to the fire, I suggest that you go up and talk to the fire chief and the fire department. Some of the questions maybe they could satisfy. Evidently the City Council and City staff were not able to be at the past hearing, so I don't know what else to say. McKee: Well, Mr. Mayor, it is your responsibility to make sure that a fire can be put out there. Waschak: This is correct, but I feel comfortable with what the fire department has told us. McKee: Well, the fire department is just blowing in the wind and if you are not going to answer those questions. DiCarlo: I think Mr. McKee has had his four minutes and I say this, if he has any questions about the fire problem that he go before the fire district board. I think he should go before the fire district board and make the same statement he made. McKee: Why have you not gone to the fire district. DiCarlo: I have gone before the fire district. McKee: Where are these DiCarlo: I am an ex firemen and I think they can handle it , in fact
