ORDINANCE NO. 623 PUBLIC HEARING CONTINUED January 16, 1979 Minutes - page 23 Mayor: Okay, Mr. Porter do you have any questions at this time. Porter: A couple questions of the Planning Director. Mr. Drumm, you were a party to the discussions be- tween the owners and Mr. Wurl as well as yourself at the time of annexation. Drumm: Some of them at least. Porter: Do you recall the owners indicating what their ultimate plans for development of this pro- perty were? Drumm: I can't specifically state that I remember them stating we are going to develope this residential, commercially or any other way. I, to answer your question, no. I was aware of the fact that they bought this as an investment, so one could conjure what they were thinking about. Porter: Do you think they bought it for buffering purposes? Did anybody say that that's what they were buying it for, to provide a buffer between the City of Louisville and the City of Lafayette? Drumm: To my recollection they did not state what their intended use was. Porter: But they had some development plans that you were aware of is that correct? Drumm: None of which they told me about. Porter: And basically insofar as when Mr. Caranci indicated that there was some discussion about you could always corne in for rezoning, you recall some discussion about that. Drumm: Yes, I do. Porter: But, anybody can do that, so that's a true statement. Isn't that what you're basically saying. Drumm: That is exactly right and as I understood the statement that's what intended to mean. Porter; in other words, you didn't tell them at that time that the staff would, if they sought a rezoning from agricultural, would fight them tooth and nail
