Do <br /> <br />There shall be no overhead obstructions lower than 15 feet on fire lanes or side <br />obstructions closer than five feet from the outer edges of fire lanes. <br /> <br />E° <br /> <br />Fire lanes shall be designed and constructed of hard surface suitable to withstand the <br />weight of fire apparatus, and such surfaces must be able to support the weight of the <br />heaviest fire apparatus of the fire district serving the property. <br /> <br />Fo <br /> <br />An emergency access fire lane which is required to be installed into an area as a <br />secondary access must be as remote as possible from the main access and provide access <br />to all parts of the development. No emergency access fire lane shall exceed 300 feet in <br />length. <br /> <br />Sec. 15.12.130. Placement of fire hydrants. <br /> <br />mo <br /> <br />Fire hydrants shall be placed at each street intersection and on each side of any divided <br />highway, roadway or street, wherever possible. <br /> <br />In a residential area, there shall be no more than 500 feet of vehicle travel distance <br />between hydrants. No building shall be more than 150 feet <br />of travel distance from the nearest hydrant. <br /> <br />Do <br /> <br />All water mains serving two or more fire hydrants shall have a looped water distribution <br />system with approved sectional valves being provided. <br /> <br />E° <br /> <br />The barrel of a fire hydrant shall be set perpendicular to the ground or the designed final <br />grade with the lowest discharge outlet 18 inches above grade. <br /> <br />Fo <br /> <br />A minimum of three feet of clearance space shall be maintained around the <br />circumference of a fire hydrant except as otherwise required or approved by the city. <br /> <br />Go <br /> <br />The minimum required residual pressure for a water supply to any given area shall be 20 <br />psi. In the event that a minimum water pressure of 20 psi cannot be obtained in any given <br />area, large water mains shall be installed with closer than the required minimum spacing <br />of fire hydrants to increase flow. <br /> <br /> Section 6.
