Page 2 <br />archival records, and historical photographs of Louisville streets, buildings, <br />and families; <br />Presented the annual Pioneer Award at the Chamber of Commerce Banquet <br />(January 2009); <br />Began a History Book Club which meets once in month, September— May, to <br />discuss topics related to the history of Louisville and the surrounding area; <br />Hosted a volunteer appreciation brunch for museum volunteers (May 2009); <br />One member gave a walking tour of Old Town for Historic Boulder's walking <br />tour series (August 2009); <br />Members of the Commission helped at the Museum by volunteering to: <br />o Write articles for the Louisville Historian <br />o Help assist visitors during Saturday open hours <br />The Historical Commission paid for the following to help the Museum: <br />o Installation of a wrought iron fence for the Museum Campus ($12,600) <br />o Half of the cost of an rehabilitation /restoration evaluation of the City's <br />antique safe <br />o Landscaping improvements and donor plaques for the Museum <br />Campus <br />o Purchase of audio visual equipment for the recording of oral histories <br />o Volunteer appreciation brunch <br />o Purchase of a laptop computer for the Commission Chairperson's use <br />Fourteen Commission members volunteered an estimated 900 hours of time <br />in 2008. <br />2009 Work Plan <br />The Commission's work plan for 2009 is a continuation of these activities and <br />programs including: <br />2009 Holiday Home Tour <br />Oral History Project <br />History Book Club <br />Continued Membership Drive <br />Pioneer Award <br />Spring Historical Program <br />
