BACKHOE - LEASE PURCHASE

LEASE PAYMENT SCHEDULE

ESTIMATE HANDICAPPED
RAMPS

WATER & SEWER TAP INCREASE

Mr. Wurl stated that a lease purchase had
been budgeted for a backhoe for the City.
He stated that five quotes were obtained
and it was his recommendation that Council
consider the outright purchase of the back-
hoe charging 2/3 of the cost to the water
bond issue and the remaining 1/3 to the
sewer bond issue. It was stated that it
was the staffs intention to do the major
part of the water line work remaining in-
stead of contracting which would save the
City money.
He also stated that it was the staffs re-
commendation along with the City crew that
Council authorize the purchase of the Ford
Backhoe. He added that the Ford quote in-
cludes a larger ditch cleaning bucket. Mr.
Wurl reviewed the quotes.
After discussion, Councilman DiCarlo
moved that the City enter into an agree-
ment to purchase the Ford backhoe from
Longmont Farm Supply in the amount of
$26,929.00 under the staff agreement which
takes 2/3 of payment from the Water Bond
and 1/3 from the Sewer Bond. Seconded by
Councilman McDonald. Roll call on motion.
Caranci yes, DiLorenzo yes, Domenico yes,
DiCarlo yes, McDonald yes, DelPizzo yes.
Motion carried.

Mr. Wurl reviewed the lease payment
schedule as requested by Council for their
information.

Mr. Wurl stated that a recommendation was
developed, but after reviewing it further,
it was his request that it be reviewed
further and a recommendation brought back
to Council.
He stated that one of the possibilities
was to remove the parking space directly
in front of the Council chambers door to
make the entrance more visible to people
who are attending meetings at the City.
Council accepted the request for tabling
the matter until completely reviewed.

Mr. Wurl stated that with the rise in
costs for materials and work he recommended
to Council that they authorize the pre-
paration of an ordinance increaseing water
tap fees to $1,300 and sewer tap fees to
$650.

-7-
