WATER & SEWER TAP
INCREASE CONTID

Mr. Wurl stated that to help cover the cost
of Coal Creek for the servicing of the new
developments, he would like to see the
cost increased to $1,500 on water taps.
Councilman DiCarlo felt that the sewer tap
should be increased to $700 as costs to
construct the sewer plant addition is also
up.
Councilman DelPizzo felt that the increase
may jeopardize the developments that are
looking into the City along with the ones
that are already in progress.
Mr. Wurl stated that the anticipated re-
venue would be approximately $29,000. He
stated that in keeping the fees at a stand
still, it will be impossible to continue
services much longer to the developments
and it would be impossible to start ser-
vices without the needed additions to the
plants.
Councilman Caranci stated that if there is
to be an increase it should be made to
cover the future developments and Coal Creek.
Mr. Jim Collins, a developer for American
Builders, stated that at the present time
homes in Louisville are the most expensive
to purchase, and it is nearing the point
that many people can not afford to purchase
homes. With the increase in tap fees, it
will be even worse.
A question was brought up as to if the
size of line fee schedule would also be
changed.
Mr. Wurl stated that the tap schedule would
be changed accordingly if the increase is
accepted.
After remarks Councilman Caranci moved that
the City Attorney be authorized to draft
an ordinance increasing the water tap fee
to $1,300 and sewer tap fee to $700.
Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo.
Councilman McDonald stated that she would
abstain from voting due to her involve-
ment with 1st Federal Savings.
Councilman DelPizzo stated that he would
leave the fees as they are until the de-
velopments are finished and Coal Creek is
about ready to be started.
Councilman McDonald stated that she felt
the cost of home was getting higher also.
Mr. Ray Shelton stated that the home in
Louisville are expensive and that the City
is trying to get too much too fast.

-8-
