<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />July 21 , 2009 <br />Page 6 of 9 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested public comment and hearing none, closed the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilor Sackett moved to approve Ordinance No. 1552, Series <br />2009 on second and final reading, seconded by Councilor Dalton. Roll call vote <br />was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 7-0. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE No. 1553" SERIES 2009 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />SECTION 12-4(a) OF THE CITY CHARTER AND PROVIDING FOR THE <br />SUBMISSION OF THE AMENDMENT TO A VOTE OF THE REGISTERED <br />ELECTORS AT THE NOVEMBER 3, 2009 REGULAR ELECTION - 2nd <br />READING - PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1553, Series 2009. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk opened the public hearing and requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />City Manager Fleming explained Ordinance No. 1553, Series 2009 would place a <br />question on the November 3 ballot proposing an amendment to Section 12-4(81) <br />of the City of louisville Charter. If approved this amendment would allow the City <br />to enter into lease-purchase agreements if approved by City Council through a <br />non-emergency ordinance. Approval of the amendment would give the City the <br />option of using lease-purchase agreements for office equipment and other <br />materials. It may also help the City when purchasing or installing certain <br />solar/green options on City projects, which are sometimes paid this way. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested public comment and hearing none, closed the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Marsella explained the option to lease-purchase would allow the <br />City to collect alternative energy tax rebates. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilor Clabots moved to approve Ordinance No. 1553, Series <br />2009 on second and final reading, seconded by Councilor Dalton. Roll call vote <br />was taken. The motion pass1ed by a vote of 7-0. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING AND ESTABLISHING THE CITY OF <br />lOUISVlllE SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLING ACTIVITY ENTERPRISE <br />- 1 st Reading - Set Public Hearing 8/18/09 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br />
