CITY ADMINISTRATORS REPORT E & F TOUR METRO WATER DISTRICT LONG RANGE PLANNING MEETING SUPERIOR PLAN PRESENTATION Mr. Wurl stated that E. & F. Industries would like to have a tour of their faci- lities for any interested persons. Mr. Wurl stated that he attended a meeting where discussion was held on the proposed metro district and a concerns were outlined. The basic consensus of the members in attendance was that they felt they were in no position to say whether the metro dis- trict was good or bad and thought a plan- ning process should be viewed which would not be a burden on tax payers and also for Louisville to consider the merits of encouraging the Northern Colorado Con- servancy District to take us in in place of the proposed Metro District. Mr. Wurl suggested that the City write a letter to the Northern District re- questing that they consider Louisville Council concurred with Mr. Wurls request. Mr. Wurl stated that there were several items on the Superior Plan which he felt should be of concern to the City. Mr. Wurl reviewed the Superior Plan area. Mr. Wurl stated that the following points should be brought up at the meeting for clarification of the Superior plan. 1. Superior should be asked to set aside 1500 feet of green space along the turn pike as the City was requested to do and did. 2. A clarification of the proposed 4,000 population should be brought up since Superior plans to build a sanitation plant to accomodate 15,000 persons. 3. He also felt that it would have bene- fitted both Louisville and Superior to plan together and the building of the plant be done by both cities. A question was brought up as to the effect of having the Coal Creek dam in the Superior planning area. Attorney Morris stated that as a munici- pality the City has condemnation powers and the City is tax exempt therefore the'Town of Superior would not have con- trol over the privately owned project such as this. -6-
