<br />ADJOURNED MEETING <br /> <br />LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />OCTOBER 23, 1973 <br /> <br />REVENUE <br /> <br />Mr. Percy Conarroe inquired about $800 budgeted <br />under title Election and placed in contingency. <br />Council explained this was in case a special <br />bond election would come up; in the event it <br />didn't, the money would not be spent. <br />The Weed Control Account was questioned and City <br />Administrator Wurl informed persons present this <br />money was spent for chemicals for weed control on <br />City Property and various repairs to equipment. <br />Mr. Joe Ferrase again questioned Urban Renewal <br />budget and it was explained that this money would <br />come directly from the Government under the title <br />of Better Communities thereby eliminating a lot <br />of paper work. If this program is not funded by <br />the Government, it will not be funded by the City. <br />Question on Parks & Recreation Department budget, <br />and explained by Mayor pro-tem King that $100,000.00 <br />of the money was the bond passed by the citizens <br />of Louisville for the swimming pool, approximately <br />$77,000.00 from the developers and approximately <br />$30,000.00 from the City, ~56,000.00 from a Govern- <br />ment Grant. <br />The Housing Authority budget was explained as <br />only ott~ce operat~ng money, part-time director <br />and $:1,000.00 to use at their option. No money <br />to acquire properties. Councilman Donovan ex- <br />plained they are trying to get a State Grant, <br />but to date had no luck on low cost housing. <br />City Administrator Wurl explained the total figures <br />$1,664,393.00 for 1974 compared to $1,419,547.00. <br />for 1973. <br />On the revenue side account #105.6 - Charges for <br />Services was discussed. The reason fOr the large <br />increase is that swimming pool fees, community <br />hall donations, janitorial and utility donations <br />from Urban Renewal and remodeling income from LURA. <br />The sale of land was explained as that section <br />of tlle Industrial area where the city garage now <br />stands. The proposed plan is to move this build- <br />ing to the Sanitation area and sell the land where <br />it stands now. <br />Revenue Sharing anticipated to be spent for the <br />Y~re Truck and Library. <br />Councilman Donovan moved that the budget be adopted, <br />a resolution be prepared and published. Seconded <br />by Councilman Deborski. Roll call vote - Deborski <br />yes, Donovan yes, Scholl yes, Domenico yes. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Page - 3 - <br />
