Those <br />Commission members who need to attend have been notified. <br />D. The plaques for the benches have been ordered, painting is underway, and a <br />possible plaque for the Tomeo House fence will be discussed in November. <br /> <br />VIII. Museum Coordinator's Report <br />A. Deeds of Gifts - The Commission approved the following donations: <br />1. Dave Ferguson - fork used at Denver Ordnance Plant cafeteria during WWII <br />2. Arlene Leggett - articles about longtime teacher Lydia Morgan <br />3. Jean Morgan - copies of photos of the Mossoni building that was located in <br />the 700 block of Front Street <br />4. Adrienne Kupfner - WWI poem from her great uncle, Felix Anfang <br />5. Bill and Kathy Ryan - 1940s issues of Louisville Times and telephone <br />directories <br />B. Activity Report <br />1. The Fall 2009 Louisville Historian is being sent to the printer and will be <br />mailed soon. <br />2. A new postal requirement is to indicate "Return Service Requested" on the <br />Historians from now on. <br />3. A photo from the Museum's collection appears in the recent book Journey of <br />the Italians in America. <br /> <br />IX. Committee Reports <br />A. Joint Event with Cultural Council and the Louisville Public Library: October 22nd: <br />book signing by Dick Kreck of his new book, Smaldone: The Untold Story of an <br />American Crime Family, 7:00 PM, Library <br />B. The Oral History Project may require additional equipment, with further <br />discussion at the November meeting <br />C. The Book Club met on October 2nd. The next meeting will be November 4th, <br />6:30 PM, Library Board Room, with the topic of Railroads in Colorado <br />D. Holiday Home Tour and Parade of Lights <br />1. We will have a booth at the Methodist Church boutique, but the Commission <br />is not sponsoring the boutique. <br />2. The Downtown Business Association has donated $600 for carriage rides. <br />3. There will be coupons attached to the Home Tour tickets for use at <br />participating restaurants. <br />4. Several businesses have donated money and will help with staging of <br />homes and providing refreshments. <br />5. The Blue Parrot, Huckleberry and Old Louisville Inn will offer special deals <br />when home tour tickets are brought in to their businesses that day. <br />6. The Art Underground and other merchants are planning activities. <br />7. Sally Burlingame, Dan Mellish, and others will ride on the carriage to point <br />out historic sites. <br />8. Tickets and posters will be ready in early November. Home Tour Preview is <br />on Thursday, December 3rd, 5:30 PM. <br />9. As in other years, Commission members will be asked to each sell five <br />tickets. The tickets will be provided at the next meeting. <br />10. The Historical Museum will again have an Open House for the Parade of <br />Lights. Since the Visitors Policy requests that visitors not consume food or <br />
