WHEREAS <br />, in furtherance of such Intergovernmental Agreement and as authorized by <br />law, including without limitation Article XX of the Colorado Constitution, the City Charter, and <br />C.R.S. Section 24-90-108, the City Council desires to amend Section 2.64.020 of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code to allow for appointment of one resident of Superior to the Louisville Library <br />Board; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1. <br /> Section 2.64.010 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows (words added are underlined; words deleted are stricken through): <br />Sec. 2.64.010. Library department Eestablished; management authority. <br />A public library department is established for the city The management <br />and control of such library is vested in the board of trustees.in the general fund of <br />the city and under the provisions of section 8.3 (b) (6) of the City Charter. Said <br />library department shall be responsible for providing a full range of public library <br />services to the citizens of the city and, under inter-library cooperative agreements, <br />to the public at large. Said services shall be provided free or under reasonable <br />charges approved by the city council. <br />Section 2. <br /> Section 2.64.020 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows (words added are underlined; words deleted are stricken through): <br />Sec. 2.64.020. Library Bboard of trustees--Appointment. <br />The mayor, with the consent of the city council, shall appoint a library <br />board of trustees to manage and control to advise the city council and city staff on <br />matters concerning the public library of the city. The library board of trustees <br />shall consist of sevensix residents of the city and one resident of the Town of <br />Superior. TrusteesBoard members shall be appointed to serve for five years. <br />Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms as soon as possible by the mayor, <br />with the consent of the city council. The board members of trustees shall not <br />receive any salary or other compensation for services as board memberstrustees, <br />but the necessary and authorized travel and subsistence expenses shall be paid <br />from library funds.A member may be removed by city council under the <br />provisions of section 10.2 of the City Charter, with cause therefor as may be <br />defined in the bylaws of the board and any ordinance or resolution of city council. <br />A majority of the library board may recommend such action. <br />Section 3. <br /> Section 2.64.030 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows (words added are underlined; words deleted are stricken through): <br />Sec. 2.64.030.
