WHEREAS , in furtherance of such Intergovernmental Agreement and as authorized by law, including without limitation Article XX of the Colorado Constitution, the City Charter, and C.R.S. Section 24-90-108, the City Council desires to amend Section 2.64.020 of the Louisville Municipal Code to allow for appointment of one resident of Superior to the Louisville Library Board; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. Section 2.64.010 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows (words added are underlined; words deleted are stricken through): Sec. 2.64.010. Library department Eestablished; management authority. A public library department is established for the city The management and control of such library is vested in the board of trustees.in the general fund of the city and under the provisions of section 8.3 (b) (6) of the City Charter. Said library department shall be responsible for providing a full range of public library services to the citizens of the city and, under inter-library cooperative agreements, to the public at large. Said services shall be provided free or under reasonable charges approved by the city council. Section 2. Section 2.64.020 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows (words added are underlined; words deleted are stricken through): Sec. 2.64.020. Library Bboard of trustees--Appointment. The mayor, with the consent of the city council, shall appoint a library board of trustees to manage and control to advise the city council and city staff on matters concerning the public library of the city. The library board of trustees shall consist of sevensix residents of the city and one resident of the Town of Superior. TrusteesBoard members shall be appointed to serve for five years. Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms as soon as possible by the mayor, with the consent of the city council. The board members of trustees shall not receive any salary or other compensation for services as board memberstrustees, but the necessary and authorized travel and subsistence expenses shall be paid from library funds.A member may be removed by city council under the provisions of section 10.2 of the City Charter, with cause therefor as may be defined in the bylaws of the board and any ordinance or resolution of city council. A majority of the library board may recommend such action. Section 3.
