<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 2,2009 <br />Page 9 of 14 <br /> <br />· The City will provide electrical service for the event. The Licensee will be <br />responsible for the removal of all event-generated trash. Vendors shall be <br />required to remove their own trash at the end of each day. <br />· The market will pay the City $1,000 annually for rental of the facility (180- <br />hours of use). <br />· The City reserves the right to charge the Licensee additional fees for city <br />staff time if the City determines additional staff time is required. Such fees <br />shall be paid by LiCiensee within 15 days of receipt of a City invoice for <br />same. <br />· The street closure for the market can include the use of the 900 block of <br />Walnut should the market grow that large. <br /> <br />The operators of the Louisville Farmers Market requested monetary fund to <br />support marketing, advertisin~~, education and entertainment. In light of the City's <br />current economic condition, Staff did not support their request for monetary <br />funding. The City will continue the current support for the market as follows: The <br />$1,000 annual fee is 1/3 of the regular charge for shelter rental, electrical power <br />supplied at no charge, and no charge for the use of streets, its closure and <br />barricades. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested an Applicant presentation. <br /> <br />Andrew Williams, 824 LaFarge Avenue, Louisville, CO was pleased with the <br />success of the Louisville Farmers Market and noted it is more of a European <br />Farmers Market opposed lto a traditional produce market. He expressed his <br />desire for the market to grow over the next few years and the three year contract <br />will assist in planning for that growth. He thanked the City, the Chamber and the <br />DBA for their support. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested public comments. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Michael Menaker, 1827 Choke Cherry Drive, Louisville, CO voiced his support for <br />the Farmers Market and rE~quested the City make an exception for the Farmers <br />Market's hand painted signs. <br /> <br />Rhonda Grassi, 916 Main Street, Louisville, CO noted South Street is one-way <br />and with the closure of Front Street, large trucks block the access to neighboring <br />local businesses on North Front Street. She requested the design of the <br />Farmers Market be reviewed. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />
