And during 2008, LRCAB members <br />attended several public meetings at which the <br />proposed new program for trash-recycling- <br />compost collection was discussed. We <br />submitted written comments and spoke at those <br />meetings in favor of adopting the new program. <br /> <br />We look forward to the implementation of the <br />new program for trash-recycling-compost <br />collection this summer. We are certain it will <br />provide better refuse-collection services for <br />practically all the 5,000 households affected. <br /> <br />4. Last year, LRCAB members indicated our <br />most important issue was our recommendation <br />that Louisville adopt a "Green-Build" Program, <br />based on the programs currently in effect for <br />the Cities of Longmont and Boulder and <br />Boulder County. <br /> <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />We passed along our review of various local <br />'green' programs to City Staff and City Council. <br />Those plans included City of Boulder Green- <br />Points; City of Longmont Green-Points; Boulder <br />County's Build-Smart; Built-Green Colorado <br />(Home Builders Assn of Metro Denver); Energy- <br />Star (US-EPA, US-DOE); Residential Energy <br />Services Network (RESNET) & Home Energy <br />Rating System (HERS). <br /> <br />We continue our support for a "Green-Build" <br />Program for Louisville, and during 2009 will <br />work to help implement such a program. <br /> <br />For LRCAB Members, <br /> <br />....~~ <br />,.. <br /> <br /> <br />Mark V Persichetti, <br />2009 LRCAB Chair <br /> <br />10 <br />
