Agnes Ostdiek feels the community room and laundry room needs to be cleaned and it currently
is not. Currently cleaners are only here for 30 minutes.

**Frank stated that the BCHA will work with Maintenance staff and the cleaning company to
ensure that the cleaning is done properly and in accordance with the contract. Frank will report
back next month and thanked the residents for the concern.

Jane Jones stated the air conditioning did not work in her unit when she moved in, in August. A
new air conditioning unit had to be ordered which she was told would take 5 weeks. She called
the maintenance supervisor directly and he didn’t respond. She wrote up this information and
submitted it with the survey. She stated no one has been returning her phone calls.

**Frank will speak with Chuck Schloz, Housing Operations Manager, and will have a response
to Jane directly to ensure that the issue has been resolved. This will be reported back to the
board next month.

Director’s Report

ARRA Funding Update:

Weatherization Program Outreach
BCHA needs strong outreach and referrals to expand production and provide this valuable
resource throughout the Louisville community. Louisville has historically underutilized the
weatherization service. High utilizers of weatherization are seniors and individuals with
disabilities. Weatherization services are a crucial component of an effective affordable housing
community strategy. The LHA Board and Sheri Marsella recommended the use of Channel 8
locally and churches. Susan Grutzmacher will contact Meredith Muth to help market.

Capital Fund Expenditures Hillside Square
The windows and porches at Hillside Square are being replaced using the ARRA Stimulus
money. Windows America was awarded the bid. Work will be completed within 45 days.

Housing Crisis Funds Program Update
The HCPP helped 370 families total this year countywide avoid foreclosure and eviction.
$850,000 has been distributed through the end of May. 82% of the families utilizing the service
currently make $20k or less. Model has been very successful. 400 people have attended
Gateways classes per month on average in the last quarter.

Louisville Housing Authority (LHA) Resolution 2009-03: A Resolution Designating the
Chair of the Louisville Housing Authority Board Effective May 26, 2009:

Terri Abbott motioned to postpone the agenda item until the June Meeting to give Rob Kelly and
Steve Underhill an opportunity to participate and to contribute. The LHA should designate a
chair and vice chair. Walt will consider becoming an alternate board member.

Louisville City Council Study Session with the Louisville Housing Authority
