<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 5, 2010 <br />Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br />Councilor Muckle agreed safHty is the number one feature of the emergency <br />notification system. He noted the siren is also capable of making public <br />announcements. <br /> <br />Mike Scherer, 796 W. Birch Court, Louisville, CO clarified the coverage of the <br />siren does not include the added affect of sound. He stressed the intersecting <br />circle of the sirens would be three times louder. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reported on December 24, 2009, the environmental process for US36 <br />was finalized and a Record of Decision (ROD) was signed. He thanked everyone <br />involved and recognized Deputy City Manager for her diligent work on the <br />project. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Fleming reported the City received 17 applications for the position <br />of City Prosecuting Attorney. The applications will be reviewed by Mayor Pro <br />Tem Marsella, Councilor Sackett, Deputy City Manager Balser, City Clerk Varra <br />and City Manager Fleming on January 6. After review of the applications, <br />candidates will be selected for interviews. A recommendation on a candidate for <br />Prosecuting Attorney will be made to the City Council later this month. Council <br />can then make the appointment in February. <br /> <br />The City Manager received an email from the Boulder League of Women Voters, <br />who is hosting a group of parliament arias from Azerbaijan for a Congress Open <br />World Program. The date is tentatively set for January 24 and the League has <br />requested members of local governments attend. He noted this would be an <br />opportunity for the Council to discuss matters of local concern <br /> <br />Winter Skate will be open through February 15th and residents are invited to <br />enjoy the skating and the ambiance in historic Louisville. <br /> <br />R:EGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY AND WATER ATTORNEY APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br />The Mayor and City Council appointed the City Attorney and the Water Attorney. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved to appoint Sam Light, Light, Harrington & Dawes, <br />P.C., as City Attorney, seconded by Councilor Dalton. All in favor. Absent: <br />Councilor Yarnell. <br />
