ORDINANCE No. 1281, SERIES 1998 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 17 OF <br />THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD A DEFINITION OF EXTENDED <br />STAY LODGING FACILITY AND TO ALLOW SUCH FACILITIES IN THE <br />COMMERCIAL-BUSINESS (C-B) ZONE DISTRICT SUBJECT TO CERTAIN <br />REGULATIONS - FIRST READING - SET PUBLIC HEARING - 7/21/98 <br /> <br />Sam Light, City Attomey, read by title only, Ordinance No. 1281, Series 1998 - An Ordinance <br />Amending Title 17 of the Louisville Municipal Code to Add A Definition of Extended Stay Lodging <br />Facility and To Allow Such Facilities in the Commercial-Business Zone Districts Subject to Certain <br />Regulations. <br /> <br />Sisk moved that Council set Ordinance No. 1281 out for publication and set the public hearing for <br />August 4, 1998, seconded by Howard. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Council discussion. <br /> <br />Mayer requested that the Ordinance provide a specific definition of"temporary lodging." <br /> <br />Howard suggested that City staff also draft guidelines for Porte cochere lighting. <br /> <br />Davidson instructed staff to do so. <br /> <br />Motion passed with all in favor. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 35, SERIES 1998 - FINAL PUD DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR <br />MARRIOTT RESIDENCE INN, LOT 4, COAL CREEK BUSINESS PARK FOR A <br />88-UNIT CORPORATE LODGING FACILITY (EXTENDED STAY HOTEL) <br /> <br />Sisk moved that Council continue Resolution No. 35, Series 1998, until the August 4, 1998, City <br />Council meeting to allow Council to consider Ordinance No. 1281 regarding extended stay facilities <br />prior to considering this final PUD development plan for an extended stay hotel, seconded by Mayer. <br /> <br />Lathrop suggested that Council allow the applicant to present the Final PUD Development Plan for <br />Council's comments and questions, provide the opportunity for the applicant to revise the plan, if <br />necessary, and continue Resolution No. 35 until the August 18, 1998 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Sisk withdrew his motion. <br /> <br />Davidson called for staff introduction. <br /> <br />Paul Wood, Planning Director, stated a Final Plat and overall Final PUD for the Coal Creek Business <br />Park were approved in February 1998.
