<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 2, 2010 <br />Page 5 of 12 <br /> <br />DISCUSSION/DIRECTIION/ACTION CONTINUANCE - AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE AND WESTERN GOLF PROPERTIES <br />(WGP) FOR MANAGEMENT OF THE COAL CREEK GOLF COURSE <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />City Manager Fleming summarized the Council discussion at the February 16, <br />2010 meeting regarding the Coal Creek Golf Course. Council authorized the City <br />Manager to extend the existing agreement with WGP through March 31, 2010. <br />Council requested Robert Heath, WGP President and CEO attend the March 2, <br />Council meeting to address questions. During the February 16, 2010 meeting <br />Council considered, but tablE!d a motion about forming a Golf Course Advisory <br />Board. Included in the City Council Packet was a draft resolution forming a Golf <br />Course Advisory Board, for Council's consideration; a Profit and Loss Statement <br />and other statistical information. City Manager Fleming outlined the changes to <br />the agreement. 1) Section 4.01 (m): Formation of a Golf Course Advisory Board <br />and 2) Section 705 Customer Service Survey: The City shall have the right to <br />conduct periodic customer sorvice surveys. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk explained there was considerable discussion at the February 16 <br />meeting and thus he requested Robert Heath, Western Golf Properties President <br />and CEO attend the March 2 Council meeting to respond to those questions. He <br />recognized Councilor Sackett who would address a draft resolution forming a . <br />Golf Advisory Board. <br /> <br />Councilor Sackett supported a Golf Course Advisory Board, whose duties and <br />responsibilities would be Gonsistent with all other City Boards and Commissions, <br />but would address concerns with the Coal Creek Golf Course. He stressed the <br />importance of local representation and their ability to make recommendations to <br />the City Council and ManagE!ment Staff. <br /> <br />Robert Health, President and CEO of Western Golf Properties LLC, addressed <br />the City Council's concerns E~xpressed at the February 16 meeting. <br /> <br />1) What is Western Golf Properties vision for the Coal Creek Golf Course? He <br />stated the only way to compote in today's market is to enhance the value of the <br />golf experience, which is customer service based and competitively priced. <br /> <br />2) What are Western Goljf Properties priorities for Capital Improvements? <br />WGP prioritizes the Capital Improvements as: 1) Preservation of the asset and <br />course conditions; 2) Innovation, and 3) Cosmetic. <br /> <br />3) How does Western propose to turn around the operations of the Golf Course? <br />By utilizing the agreement and investing in the capital investment in order to <br />
