Regular Meeting, Louisville City Council, June 6, 1978 PAGE 9 <br /> HIRING AN ADDITIONAL Administrator Wurl read Chief Manger's <br /> PATROLMAN, REQUEST BY memo in its entirety, end recommended <br /> CHIEF MUNGER Council act favorably on the Chief's re- <br /> quest. Councilman DiLorenzo moved that an <br /> additional patrolman be hired by Chief Misuser. <br /> Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. Councilman <br /> DelPizzo mentioned that he would like to <br /> set patrolman on foot patrol especially <br /> during the hours of 8 to 10 P.M. in the <br /> vicinity of the bars and parks to acquaint <br /> the citizens of Louisville with the members <br /> of the Police Department, and perhaps curtail <br /> some of the fights at the bars and vandalism <br /> at the parks. <br /> Chief Munger replied that they are now having <br /> plain clothes patrolman roam the parks to try <br /> to decrease vandalism, and on a limited basis <br /> are foot patrolling the business district <br /> and bars as the work load permits. Mayor <br /> Waschak inquired of Chief Munger, if the new <br /> patrolman was hired, could foot patrolling <br /> be done more frequently. Chief Munger rep lied <br /> that he could, provided numerous priority <br /> calls did not come in <br /> After a lengthy discussion between the Chief <br /> and Council members, Administrator suggested <br /> that Chief Munger include the number of hours <br /> spent on foot patrol by his officers in his <br /> regular monthly report. Councilman DiCarlo <br /> requested these be taken from the dispatcher <br /> records. Mayor Waschak asked Chief Munger <br /> to present to Council with a report of foot <br /> patrol for the month of May. Chief Munger <br /> said he would comply. <br /> DRCOG LETTER Administrator Wurl read a letter inviting <br /> FOOTHILLS WATER TREATMENT all members of Council and alternates to <br /> PLANT join the Water Board Program Committee to <br /> their regular meeting at 4:30 P.M. on June 7, <br /> 1978, at the COG Offices. <br />
