Regular Meeting, Louisville City Council, June 6, 1978 PAGE 9 HIRING AN ADDITIONAL Administrator Wurl read Chief Manger's PATROLMAN, REQUEST BY memo in its entirety, end recommended CHIEF MUNGER Council act favorably on the Chief's re- quest. Councilman DiLorenzo moved that an additional patrolman be hired by Chief Misuser. Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. Councilman DelPizzo mentioned that he would like to set patrolman on foot patrol especially during the hours of 8 to 10 P.M. in the vicinity of the bars and parks to acquaint the citizens of Louisville with the members of the Police Department, and perhaps curtail some of the fights at the bars and vandalism at the parks. Chief Munger replied that they are now having plain clothes patrolman roam the parks to try to decrease vandalism, and on a limited basis are foot patrolling the business district and bars as the work load permits. Mayor Waschak inquired of Chief Munger, if the new patrolman was hired, could foot patrolling be done more frequently. Chief Munger rep lied that he could, provided numerous priority calls did not come in After a lengthy discussion between the Chief and Council members, Administrator suggested that Chief Munger include the number of hours spent on foot patrol by his officers in his regular monthly report. Councilman DiCarlo requested these be taken from the dispatcher records. Mayor Waschak asked Chief Munger to present to Council with a report of foot patrol for the month of May. Chief Munger said he would comply. DRCOG LETTER Administrator Wurl read a letter inviting FOOTHILLS WATER TREATMENT all members of Council and alternates to PLANT join the Water Board Program Committee to their regular meeting at 4:30 P.M. on June 7, 1978, at the COG Offices.
