•
had been called to engage in the actual towing.
This could cause as many problems as it is
designed to alleviate in Morris' opinion. This
proposed ordinance allows the property owner to
enlist a towing company to have a vehicle towed
from their property.
Bundley suggested that an analysis be made after
the ordinance is adopted (possibly 6 months to a
year) to see what problems, if any, may be
occurring as a result of its adoption.
Leary suggested that a list be made available to
the public recommending towing companies in order
of performance, rate, and availability.
Mayor Meier closed the Public Hearing and moved
that Ordinance 4858 be adopted. Cussen seconded.
Mayor Meier directed staff to investigate the
charges that area towing companies are imposing
for the towing of a vehicle from private property.
Ordinance 4858 was passed by a vote of 6-1 with
Morris voting no.
RESOLUTION 411 -
SCRRILTER FINAL PLAT Wanush presented a proposal submitted by John
Sozio, owner of said property, for the subdivision
of an existing lot into two lots. No development
plans are being submitted at this time. Planning
Commission recommended approval at the Public
Hearing on May 14, 1985. This is a piece of
property of approximately 14,600 sq. ft. There is
an existing house on the north side of the
property. The lot would be divided so that the
house would remain on the northern parcel and the
southern parcel would remain vacant. At this
time, the owner has no plans to develop although
the ground is zoned RM which would permit a duplex
on the 7,600 sq. ft. proposed vacant lot. There
were no objections from staff or the various
public utilities.
Rautenstraus read in its entirety Resolution 411,
Series 1985, "A Resolution approving final
subdivision plat for the Schreiter Property.•
Mayor moved that Resolution 411 be adopted.
Tauson seconded.
Morris asked why two Planning Commission members
voted against the issue. Wanush said that he did
not recall that they had voiced any direct
comments. An adjacent homeowner to the south
voiced an objection at the Public Bearing related
to increased traffic.
7
