Andrew Gorton, 940 McKinley Ave., wanted to
comment specifically on the zoning of this
annexation. Morton is in favor of the annexation
and presented a petition letter signed by
residents in the area request lag zoning be
designated as RR as opposed to the PL requested
by the applicant.
Anderson asked if the building permits would be
issued fraw the City's 'Other" allocation
category. Kanush stated that they would be.
Mayor Yausoq moved that the public hearing be
closed and called for a motion.
Anderson moved that Ordinance #898 be adopted.
scarpella seconded. By Roll Call Vote, Ordinance
0898 was adopted unanimously.
oMDIW1sCI 0899 - ZONING RRQUZS't - WIGGZTT LTD. -
PUBLIC RIPJUNG Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #899,
"An Ordinance amending Title 17 of the Louisville
Municipal Code of the City of Louisville entitled
"boning• by zoning property of Approximately 2.49
acres owned by M.B.P., limited, annexed to the
City by Ordinance Mo. 898." Proof of publication
and notice of public hearing were established.
Mayor Pauson opened the public hearing.
Wanush explained that this zoning request is in
conjunction with the proceeding annexation
request. The request is for Residential Low
Density (RL) zoning which has a minimum lot area
of 7,000 s.f. Planning Commission heard this
request at the public hearing on Kay 13, 1986.
Commission approved the annexation yet recommended
RI zoning rather than the requested RL zoning.
Mandy Blackburn, applicant representative,
reminded Council that this parcel will be under a
POD and that Planning Commission and Council will
be reviewing the proposed development for review
at a later date and encouraged Council to consider
the RL zoning to allow the developer the maximum
flexibility.
Mike Carruthers. 941 Garfield Ave., spoke in
reference to the petition circulated showing that
908 of the residents signing it agreed with either
RR or RR zoning allowing for an appropriate
transition from the RL zoning.
Susan Bart, 929 McKinley Ave., spoke to favor of
RR zoning to preserve the character of the area.
9 •
