4 <br /> PROCLAMATION - SENIOR CITIZEN <br /> MONTH Mayor xauson proclaimed May as National Senior <br /> Citisen Month in the City of Louisville. Members <br /> of the Senior Citisens Advisory Board were present <br /> to receive the proclamation and thanked Council <br /> for their support in Senior activities. <br /> PROCLAMATION - NATIONAL ELDER ABUSE PREVENTION <br /> WEEK Mayor Fauson proclaimed May 3-9 as National Elder <br /> Abuse Prevention Week. <br /> PROCLAMTION -- NATIONAL- TEACHER <br /> DAY Mayor Fauson proclaimed May 5. 19$7, as National <br /> Teacher Day. Doug Vidulich, a teacher in the <br /> Boulder Valley School District, accepted the <br /> proclamation. <br /> CHAMBER REQUEST - USE OP NE WRY SQUARE PARR - <br /> 4TR OP JULY The Louisville Chamber of Commerce Activities <br /> Committee requested use of Memory Square Park and <br /> the closure of Spruce Street during the 4th of <br /> July Celebration. Mayor Pauson received a request <br /> for the City's cooperation in the Flag Day <br /> ceremonies and the Labor Day Celebration. <br /> Szymanski suggested that each Department review <br /> the Chamber's requests and contact the Chamber if <br /> there were any questions or concerns. Szymanski <br /> then moved that the requests by the Chamber for <br /> the various street closures and City staff support <br /> at the 4th of July Celebration, the ?lag Day <br /> Ceremonies and the Labor Day Celebration be <br /> approved. Mohr seconded. Unanimous. <br /> A request for $300 by the Chamber for advertising <br /> the 4th of July event was referred to the Finance <br /> Committee and will be considered by Council next <br /> month. <br /> PUBLIC BEARING - AMERICAN LEGION CLUB LIQUOR <br /> APPLICATION The American Legion Post Ill has applied for a <br /> Club Liquor License. The club is located at 62$ <br /> LaFarge. A petition was circulated in the <br /> neighborhood indicating approval among residents <br /> of the Post's location and liquor license. All <br /> appropriate fees have been paid and the facility <br /> was properly posted and notice of the hearing <br /> was published in the Louisville Times. <br /> Mayor Pauson opened the public meeting. <br /> Szymanski asked to be excused from the proceedings <br /> as he is a Trustee of the American Legion and did <br /> not want to cause any possible conflict of <br /> interest. <br /> 2 <br />
