The existing City <br />entrance sign at Kennedy Avenue should <br />be removed and a new point of entry <br />established at McCaslin Bouldevard and <br />South Boulder Road. Approximately 2 1/2 <br />acres of the site would be dedicated <br />open space to serve as the gateway to <br />the City. A large mound would be <br />incorporated into this entry, allowing <br />attractive signage to be integrated and <br />developed. Existing park land at <br />Kennedy Ave. has been linked to the open <br />space buffer to provide vital linkages <br />of the open space programmed within the <br />City. The Center Square Park concept <br />has been developed to encourage use of <br />mass transit and to emphasize the <br />importance of children within the City <br />of Louisville. Neighborhood meetings <br />were held and the consensus was that <br />this should be left open space. Views <br />were very important to the neighbors. <br />The architecture will be heavily <br />controlled within an historic Louisville <br />motif, creating similar flat facades of <br />Main Street.
