.~.

what is your opinion on the lack of
community participation other than
coming to this meeting tonight?

Rice: One of the statements that was made at
the Recreation Center was that we had no
guarantee even if we participated with
the representatives for Mr. Morris, that
our opinions would result in anything
different than the original site plan.
I think that has been proved here
tonight. When the majority of people
did participate they opposed commercial
development. What we are seeing here
tonight is a commercial development, so
people said why bother.

Davidson: Are there contacts for any of the
developments or letters of intent saying
they are going to locate here?

Morris: We have numerous requests from different
people, but we are not going to state at
this time who they are.

Davidson: Asked wher they got the needs of the
city from?

Manning: No one in the city gave them the needs,
these needs were not discussed with
anyone in the city.

Davidson: I tried to keep an open mind about this
up to this meeting to determine if we
should use staff time and the Planning
Commission time to do this. I have
listened very carefully to the
presentation, it is so different from
what I would envision there. This all
adds up to strip development and I don't
ever think Louisville has favored strip
development and I don't really see the
reason to waste staff's time on this.

Carnival: Asked the City Attorney to clarify the
city's position on this item.

Griffiths: The summary that has been provided to
you tonight points out that the city has
not received any annexation petition for
this area. It also states that under
the Louisville process with these types
of requests that the city has received

9
