-- .
with two-years, two months came to me and said "gee,
I'm going to be making the same as these rookie
officers," it just hit me, I said "Oh, my god!" and I
apologized to him. I told him we were going to look at
it.
Brand: The Police Department is a department in which all of
the officers do the same thing, they do it at different
levels of responsibility and different levels of
competence, therefore, the jobs are highly comparable.
It is just the different levels: officer, corporal, sergeant,
lieutenant and a chief. What we plan to do pending Council action
this evening is send a notice to all employees telling
them what their current job classification is; current
salary; new classification; new grade and step would be.
At the bottom of that notification would be that if you
do not agree with this you have an appeal process.
Howard: I have a different viewpoint than Mr. Carnival on this
matter.
