..,'
Council requested that when the dollars were requested that they be given a detailed report
on where and how the dollars will be spent, justification and results of appropriate studies.
Davidson: With the exception of the patrol car and the snowplow,
I am willing to leave these items in the budget. I am
not convinced of the need to purchase the remaining
vehicles that are shown. The City has 38 pickup trucks
and 2 cars, which is a total of 40 vehicles and when you
subtract the number of police officers off the full-time
employees you get an awful high vehicle to City
employee ratio and I am assuming our secretaries don't
use vehicles. I don't think we have taken a proper look
at this whole thing. I am willing to leave it in the
budget, but before I would vote to actually expend the
money they would have to be justified. The brush
chipper, I think the rental program that we had last year
was highly successful and efficient. I think that is the
method that we should continue to go. I am not
convinced at all that spending $17,000.00 for a brush
chipper is appropriate. I would like to see increased
funding for street and alley repair and as I understand
it there is some unanticipated sales tax income coming
Ill. I would like at some future date to go into what
that income is and what would be available for the
much needed street and alley repair.
Davidson moved that Council adopt the 1992 Budget, Resolution No. 19, Series 1991,
seconded by Fauson. Roll call was taken. Motion passed 6-0.
Sackett moved that Council adopt Resolution No. 20, Series 1991, seconded by Fauson.
Roll call was taken. Motion passed 6-0.
Sackett moved that Council adopt Resolution No. 21, Series 1991, seconded by Szymanski.
Roll call was taken. Motion passed 5-1 with Howard voting no.
Hornbostel moved that Council adopt the City's Capital Improvement Program, seconded
by Sackett. Roll call was taken. Motion passed 6-0.
ORDINANCE NO. 1055, SERIES 1991 - GARAGE SALE SIGN
REQUIREMENTS - 1ST READING - SET PUBLIC HEARING
Griffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1055, Series 1991, "An Ordinance relating to
temporary yard or garage sale signs."
13
