He requested that each request be <br />placed on the next agenda. <br /> <br />Tofte stated that 4 weeks is a long time to wait for an answer. <br /> <br />Lewis stated that just because a structure is on the market doesn’t mean it is in <br />peril. <br /> <br />Stewart asked how much of the fund balance is avaialble for acquisition. <br /> <br />Koertje stated the fund has not been broken down into individual elements. <br /> <br />Stewart stated he would recommend the grain elevator as the first acquisition. <br />He stated it is not being used nor is it on the market. <br /> <br />Tofte asked if the Commission could move forward on acquiring something that <br />isn’t currently on the market. <br /> <br />Stewart asked why not. <br /> <br />Tofet asked how should the Commission allocate funds. <br /> <br />Koertje stated the Commission will create a budget at the beginning of each year. <br /> <br />Koertje closed by asking Staff to bring back the grant application at the next <br />meeting for Commission review. <br /> <br />Update/Discussion/Action – Downtown Design Guidelines and Old Town <br />Overlay Regulations <br /> <br />Koertje stated Whiteman and Koertje had asked City Council to appoint a body to <br />review what elements of the downtown design standards should be reviewed. <br />Koertje stated that Council recommended that the HPC and Planning <br />Commission chose two representatives from each Commission to go through the <br />guidelines to determine what elements need to be addressed, primarily how to <br />address the preservation of character. <br /> <br />McCartney then polled the Commission to ask who would be interested in <br />participating. <br /> <br />Stewart and Williams volunteered to be on the review committee. <br /> <br />Tofte stated the Committee could contact Greg McMenamin to inquire about the <br />establishment of an architectural review board. <br /> <br /> <br />
