Planning Commission Meeting Minutes May 13, 2010 Page 4 of 13 Baker requested a waiver regarding the required trash/recycle area. She stated the school is an eco friendly school and generates very little trash. They plan to share the trash/recycle with the already existing pre-school. Commission Questions: Sheets requested staff provide additional direction to the Commission regarding the rear gate requirement and the trash area since the applicant discussed and/or proposed alternatives. McCartney stated staff would support the request for a locked gate at the rear of the property. He stated the shared trash would probably be acceptable to staff but the topic would need further discussion. Loo asked how the billing for trash would occur since the City bills each address or unit with a water bill account. She stated the trash billing needed clarification prior to being sent to City Council. Russell stated the City should give direction to the applicant regar •ng the trash billing for the two properties they are using for the schools. Pritchard stated if staff is going to support a back g en Condition should be removed. Kathleen Van Matre, 499 Lincoln Circle, LoLrII d her support for the alternative school. She currently has a child attendin the pre-school and as a family they are very happy with the program. Christy Lochary, 306 Mapleton Ave., Bould stated she is one of teachers at the pre-school and has enjoyed the partnering the school with the Transition Louisvil ' the garden beds at the pre-school. Staff and A None heard. tS ar and Recommendation: Public Hearing Closed Commission Comments: Russell stated his support and requested staff work with the applicant and the City requirements regarding the trash / recycle area. Brauneis stated his support and has confidence in staff and the applicant to finalize the wording of the conditions. Sheets stated her support of the application and provided some suggested language for the conditions of approval.
