Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 13, 2010 <br />Page 4 of 13 <br />Baker requested a waiver regarding the required trash/recycle area. She stated <br />the school is an eco friendly school and generates very little trash. They plan to <br />share the trash/recycle with the already existing pre-school. <br />Commission Questions: <br />Sheets requested staff provide additional direction to the Commission regarding <br />the rear gate requirement and the trash area since the applicant discussed <br />and/or proposed alternatives. <br />McCartney stated staff would support the request for a locked gate at the rear of <br />the property. He stated the shared trash would probably be acceptable to staff <br />but the topic would need further discussion. <br />Loo asked how the billing for trash would occur since the City bills each address <br />or unit with a water bill account. She stated the trash billing needed clarification <br />prior to being sent to City Council. <br />Russell stated the City should give direction to the applicant regar •ng the trash <br />billing for the two properties they are using for the schools. <br />Pritchard stated if staff is going to support a back g en Condition should <br />be removed. <br />Members of the Public: <br />Joan Riggins, 640 Main, Louisvill�f'll�f,�the property receives a water bill then <br />they are being billed for trash. <br />Kathleen Van Matre, 499 Lincoln Circle, LoLrII d her support for the <br />alternative school. She currently has a child attendin the pre-school and as a <br />family they are very happy with the program. <br />Christy Lochary, 306 Mapleton Ave., Bould stated she is one of teachers at the <br />pre-school and has enjoyed the partnering the school with the Transition <br />Louisvil ' the garden beds at the pre-school. <br />Hal= .dek, 15• ouse Hollow Land, Loveland stated she is a staff member <br />an• he board of •'rectors for the school. She stated the school contributes to <br />Louis • offering an alternative school program, which benefits both the child <br />and the .. ts. <br />Staff and A <br />None heard. <br />tS <br />ar and Recommendation: <br />Public Hearing Closed Commission Comments: <br />Russell stated his support and requested staff work with the applicant and the <br />City requirements regarding the trash / recycle area. <br />Brauneis stated his support and has confidence in staff and the applicant to <br />finalize the wording of the conditions. <br />Sheets stated her support of the application and provided some suggested <br />language for the conditions of approval. <br />
